ACS Hope Lodge Awarded LEED® Green Building Certification

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Martin Property Development, Inc. (MPD) is pleased to announce that the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, Peter M. Wege Guest House has been awarded Silver LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED is the USGBC’s leading rating system for designing and constructing the world’s greenest, most energy efficient, and high performing buildings.

As Owner Representative for the development of the project, MPD coordinated the process of green building design and construction management practices into the project from concept to completion. Buildings are awarded the LEED certification based on their environmental impact in the following areas: site development, water efficiency, energy efficiency, material selection, indoor environmental quality and innovation in design. The architect, Design Plus, Inc., and construction manager, Triangle Associates, were instrumental in ensuring that Hope Lodge met the LEED certification standards.
